Police made two easy arrests recently, of people who had arrest warrants out for them.
The first was a 21-year-old man who surrendered at the Brandon police station early Tuesday afternoon. He learned that there was a warrant out for his arrest for failing to comply with the conditions of his probation and was indeed arrested. He was later released from custody, but now has a court date for July 28.
Then, just past 1 a.m. on Wednesday, officers on patrol spotted a man near Richmond Avenue and Parkdale Drive who aroused their attention. A records check on the 54-year-old turned up an arrest warrant for theft under $5,000 and for failure to attend court. He, too, has since been released from custody, with a new court date of Aug. 11.
