Three boys were arrested late Tuesday night after reports that they were trying to break into parked cars.
Police were called at about 11:30 p.m. to the 1300-block of Eighth Street, where someone had reported the group of boys. Officers found and checked three youths in the area, and ended up arresting all three of them for various reasons.
The first, a 14-year-old Brandon boy, initially gave police a false name. He was found in possession of break-in tools as well as vehicle keys that had been stolen earlier from an address on Madison Crescent. When he was identified, police also found that he was out past his curfew and was in breach of several court orders for being in contact with the other two boys.
He was to appear in court yesterday, to face charges of possessing break-in tools, public mischief, possession of stolen property, two counts of breaching an undertaking and two counts of breaching a recognizance.
The second suspect, a 12-year-old Brandon boy, was also found to be breaching court orders by being in contact with the other two. He was to appear in court yesterday on charges of breach of an undertaking and breach of a recognizance.
The third suspect, a 14-year-old Brandon boy, was arrested for breaching the peace and was released to a parent later.
Police say the investigation is continuing and further charges are possible.
