Brandon received less than half the amount of rain seen at Clear Lake during Thursday morning’s storm system.
Wasagaming got hit by 54.4 millimetres — the most in the region — while Brandon received only 21.2 mm, according to Environment Canada.
Despite a flood watch issued Wednesday by the province’s Hydrologic Forecast and Water Management Centre, the city said the Assiniboine River is unlikely to flood its banks from this rain.
The river measured at 1,170.83 feet above sea level at 8 a.m. Thursday morning. This is still well above the seasonal norm, which is between 1,166 feet and 1,168 feet.
