Maybe he thought the crush of back-to-school would make him inconspicuous, but a Brandon man was quickly arrested this week after a school bus was reported stolen near Moose Jaw, Sask.
RCMP from the White Butte detachment in Saskatchewan say that the stolen school bus was reported at about 2 p.m. on Tuesday. It was a spare that had been parked at a rural property near Moose Jaw.
A little while later, reports came in that the bus had been seen on the Trans-Canada Highway, being driven erratically, as it headed east toward Regina.
Police pulled over the bus two kilometres west of McLean, Sask., where they arrested the driver, who was the only person on board. He has since been released.
Lionel Young, 27, has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and he is to appear in Regina court on Nov. 6.
