Brandon woman faces impaired driving charge

A 21-year-old Brandon woman faces several charges after police pulled her vehicle over in the area of 50th Street and Otter Bay.

Shortly after 9 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of an erratic driver. After locating and stopping the suspect vehicle, the driver showed signs of impairment and intoxication. Police arrested the woman, who refused to provide a breath sample.

During the arrest, the woman also assaulted one of the police officers who escaped without injury.

The accused was held at Brandon Correctional Centre overnight and faces charges of impaired driving, refusing a breath demand and assault with intent to resist a peace officer.
