The Brandon Regional Health Centre will unveil a new piece of cancer treatment equipment today.
With esophageal cancer on the rise across North America, a piece of equipment known as the Halo Generator is now being used to treat a condition called Barrett’s esophagus — a precursor for the most common type of esophageal cancer.
The BRHC Auxiliary donated $43,278 to help purchase this piece of equipment, making Prairie Mountain Health the first in Manitoba to offer this procedure.
