Brandon School Division will be seeking feedback from parents on the topic of busing students in grades 7 and 8 to industrial arts and home economics classes.
Concerned parent Tracey Denbow-Peasgood said the current system, in which students take city transit to the schools, is not safe.
Denbow-Peasgood has made presentations to the board expressing her concern.
The topic was on the agenda at Monday night’s school board meeting.
Trustees agreed they will seek more input from parents on the issue.
“It’s the Parent Council Liaison Committee that’s going to check with parent councils to see if there’s any further feedback,” board chair Mark Sefton said.
There have not been any other formal complaints from parents to the board and Sefton said using city buses seems to have worked quite well over the years.
Denbow-Peasgood was pleased to hear trustees are seeking more information.
