Businesses finalists for provincial awards

Three local businesses have advanced to the final stage of judging for the 2012 Manitoba Business Awards, according to the City of Brandon.

The Brandon Wheat Kings have advanced in the outstanding small business category, which consists of businesses with less than 30 employees. Meanwhile, Murray Auto Group/Murray Auto Centre and Smooth Freight have advanced in the long-term achievement business rural category, which is open for businesses that have operated for more than 25 years.

The finalists represent three of five businesses that the Economic Development Brandon office and the Brandon Chamber of Commerce submitted applications for awards.

Winners will be announced on Oct. 18 at the Manitoba Business Awards Gala in Winnipeg.
