Enjoy the power of language during World Poetry Day on Friday.
Brandon University is commemorating the day with an hour-long “Celebration of Dead Poets and Their Poetry,” in which participants will perform their favourite works from great poets of the past.
In 1999, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) moved to support linguistic diversity through poetic expression and to promote the public use of endangered languages in communities around the world, through the creation of World Poetry Day.
BU’s event will take place from 12:40 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Room 104 in Clark Hall.
