After many months of negotiating and finalizing details, Dauphin’s Countryfest is excited to announce that their 2013 Saturday night lineup will be:
• Florida Georgia Line
• Thompson Square
• Luke Bryan
Luke Bryan is a superstar in the making and the career growth from his first to his second to his third studio album, "tailgates and tanlines," is the proof. The Georgian who burst on the scene in 2007 with his unique blend of down-home accessibility, movie star good looks and relatable lyrics, is set to explode in a major way. The new album debuted at No. 1 on the country chart and No. 2 on the pop charts, making it the second highest debut at that time of 2011 for a country artist.
The album is now certified platinum for sales over one million and contains three back to back platinum singles — "Country Girl (Shake It For Me), "I Don’t Want This Night To End" and "Drunk On You." To date, Bryan has scored five No. 1 singles.
Thompson Square isn’t a real place, exactly. It’s the musical territory staked out by the husband-and-wife duo of Keifer and Shawna Thompson, an exciting and unpredictable area where country meets rock, rough meets smooth and one vagabond heart finds a harmonious common ground with another. It’s the sweet destination where two journeys end and another one begins.
"It’s the place where we create our thing, a little fantasyland where we live," Keifer says. And now the rest of us get to discover that magical place, starting with the duo’s new self-titled debut album. Fans began truly getting to know their way around Thompson Square with the release of the infectious radio smash "Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not," a fitting introduction to the Thompsons’ natural chemistry and spirit of buoyant romance.
The full-throttle excitement that Florida Georgia Line has carried to packed houses throughout the southeast is now going nationwide. The duo — Monroe, Georgia’s Tyler Hubbard and Ormond Beach, Florida’s Brian Kelley — have turned their highly engaging brand of showmanship into opening slots for artists like Jake Owen, Brantley Gilbert and Colt Ford, and into a coveted spot on the 2012 Country Throwdown Tour with the likes of Gary Allan, Rodney Atkins and Justin Moore.
Now they have captured all the fire and energy of that stage show in a new single, "Cruise," an anthem to love in its first magic moments. The first offering from their five-song EP "It’z Just What We Do," brings their trademark harmonies and rocking sound to bear on a tale of youthful attraction, music and Georgia back roads. Produced by Joey Moi, whose credits range from Jake Owen to Nickelback, "Cruise" is sure to thrill their old and new fans alike.
