Three young children were approached by a pair of men who allegedly asked the kids to go with them, police say. They are investigating it as a case of suspicious activity.
A woman called police at about 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday, saying that after she heard her dog barking, she went outside to see a man talking to her three young children over their rear fence. That man then joined another man in the laneway and they left the area walking south.
The children — the oldest of whom is 4 — allegedly told their monther that the man wanted them to go with him.
Police went to the 1300-block of Fifth Street, but say they couldn't locate the two men.
The first man is described as Caucasian, about 6-foot-2, with a slender build and grey/balding hair. He was wearing a black felt jacket with leather sleeves.
The second man is also described as Caucasian, about 5-foot-9, with a chubby build and grey hair. He was wearing a cream-coloured baseball cap, a white shirt and blue jeans.
Police say that they are investigating the incident and wanted to make the public aware, since the exact intentions of the suspects are unknown at this time.
