City manager set to provide quarterly update to council

City council will hear the quarterly update from city manager Scott Hildebrand at Monday’s meeting.

In his report, Hildebrand will touch on the Roadmap for Growth, last year’s budget, the 2013 budget process and the city’s human resources strategy.

He will also provide an update on protective services contract negotiations.

Snow clearing, the Eighth Street bridge, the wastewater treatment plant and the North Brandon Gateway will also be discussed as part of the infrastructure plan.

Also at Monday’s meeting will be a report from the Lieutenant Governor’s Winter Festival committee.

A report from Patrick Pulak of the city’s development services department will be received regarding the impact of power outage on water treatment plant operations, stemming from a Dec. 3 power outage that lasted approximately 95 minutes.

Several bylaws are on the agenda, including one to amend the Brandon Urban Aboriginal Peoples’ council to increase representation on the council.

Council meets at city hall Monday at 7:30 p.m.
