City will accept police station proposals until Friday

When the deadline for development proposals passed on Aug. 31 for the old Firehall No. 1 on Princess Avenue, only a plan for a brewpub was received.

The plan for the Brewtinerie is available online at brewtinerie.ca and will be reviewed by city officials, city manager Scott Hildebrand said.

"We need to understand the details of that proposal and if it meets our satisfaction, we’ll move forward and if it doesn’t, then we’ll try something different."

The request for proposal deadline for the vacated former police station was extended because the master plan for the existing building was located. The new deadline for proposals is Friday.

"We thought it was important to offer the master plans to those who were interested in developing a proposal, so we extended the deadline a week," Hildebrand said.
