Police arrested a man at a Brandon hotel after his girlfriend called police to report an assault.
The 21-year-old victim called officers to a home on the 1500-block of 26th Street just after 8:30 p.m. on Monday, saying that she’d been struck in the face by her boyfriend. She didn’t require medical treatment.
Officers found the suspect, a 21-year-old Sioux Valley Dakota Nation man, at a hotel on the 3100-block of Victoria Avenue shortly after.
He was highly intoxicated, police say, and jailed overnight. He was to be released Tuesday morning on a number of conditions, and was to appear in court on Sept. 22.
