Two Winnipeg men who were pulled over in Brandon for not having tail lights on their vehicle quickly admitted to police that they had a little pot with them — but a later search turned up a fair bit more.
Brandon police say they pulled over the pair at about 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday on the 700-block of First Street North, after noting it had no tail lights.
Officers could smell marijuana from the vehicle and the driver turned over a small amount when police questioned him.
That led to the arrest of both him and his passenger. Police say they then searched the vehicle and found about half a pound of pot inside, as well as some drug trafficking paraphernalia.
Two Winnipeg men, both 24 years old, were to appear in court yesterday on charges of possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
