Cops still searching for convenience store thief

A late-night robber was feeling lucky after he pulled a handgun on a Victoria Avenue store employee, running off with a variety of lottery tickets Saturday night.

Police say shortly before midnight, they received a report of a man who entered the store, located on the 3300-block of Victoria Avenue, with his hood up and walked directly toward the staff.

As he approached, he pulled the weapon from his belt, pointed it at staff and made some demands.

The suspect is described as a stocky male, 5-foot-10, around 220 pounds, with broad shoulders and clean-shaven. He was wearing a white hoodie with black sleeves and a purple plaid shirt underneath with loose-fitting jeans.

Police continue to investigate.
