After a five-week summer break, Brandon City Council will be back in session Monday.
The first of five delegations on the agenda is from the Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum. Stephen Hayter and Archie Londry will make a presentation on the Veterans’ Memorial Wall Project.
Heiko Zinn of the Brandon Taxi Association will address council on the proposed taxi fare increase.
Brandon University Students’ Union will speak to council regarding the upcoming Rock the Block street party.
Bill Paton will make a presentation to council on environmental issues, including drinking water treatment and quality, mosquitos and the West Nile virus, and city trees.
The final delegation will come from Jack and Betty Gross regarding the closure of the walkway from Cornwallis Crescent to the Balmoral/MacLeod walkway.
Coun. Stephen Montague (Richmond) is requesting amendments to the city’s mosquito abatement policy.
Council will address several rezoning bylaws, including first reading of the bylaw dealing with the land where the Kingsway Kort trailer park is located.
