Minnedosa’s new recreational facility will be named after the town’s credit union, after a quarter-million-dollar agreement on naming rights was reached.
The multi-sport, multi-facility development will be known as the MCU Complex, after the Minnedosa Credit Union, which contributed $250,000 to help with project fundraising.
“This contribution goes a long way to help our capital campaign achieve its fundraising goal,” said Jon Lewis, the chairperson of the recreational centre. “MCU has always been very generous in its support of various projects within our community and surrounding area.”
The naming rights are good for 25 years, and are expected to bring the credit union significant exposure in the Minnedosa and Westman area.
“The new recreational centre is a major undertaking and (we are) proud to be associated with this project,” said Beth McNabb, the credit union’s board chairperson. “Once completed, the new MCU Complex will be a valuable asset for our region for years to come.”
