The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in solving an assault with a weapon.

At around 9:50 p.m. on Jan. 20, a 22-year-old man was reportedly assaulted by three unknown males in the area of the 800-block of Lorne Avenue.

The male suspects were said to have had their faces covered with black bandanas and all emerged from a grey-coloured Chevrolet Trailblazer, with a licence plate beginning with the letter "G."

The victim was allegedly punched in the torso by all three suspects, one of whom was said to have brandished a handgun.

Two of the suspects were believed to be Caucasian and the other aboriginal, with all being in their early 20s and around 5-foot-8.

The Caucasian driver was clean cut with brown hair, a red hoodie and blue jeans. The Caucasian front seat passenger was clean-cut with dark brown hair, light moustache growth, a blue jacket and dark pants. The aboriginal rear seat passenger was heavier set with a shaved head, green jacket and khaki pants.

The reason for the attack is unknown, but is believed to have been some type of warning.

If you have information about this or any other crime, contact Brandon Crime Stoppers.

Wanted by police

An arrest warrant has been issued for Janzen, 56, who is charged with care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired, refusing to provide a breath sample and failing to attend court.

Police report that on Oct. 31, a male suspect was allegedly found impaired inside a vehicle, which had jumped a curb and struck a light post on the parking lot of a Brandon hotel.

The suspect was arrested for care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired and later refused to provide a breath sample.

After being released, the suspect failed to attend court on Jan. 2.
