The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a violent robbery.

Police report at around midnight on June 8, a 17-year-old girl and her 15-year-old friend were swarmed and robbed by a group of eight to 10 females at the Manitoba Summer Fair.

The 17-year-old victim was punched in the face and had her purse stolen.

The suspects were all said to be aboriginal in appearance, with the assault suspect described as having long black hair, blue jean shorts and a black shirt.

The incident occurred in the south parking lot of Westman Place and the suspects ran back into the midway afterward.

WANTED BY POLICE

The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Colin John Hovey, who is wanted by police.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Hovey, 22, who is charged with uttering death threats.

Police report that on May 15, a man allegedly threatened a woman’s life when he was unable to gain entry into her apartment.

Attempts to locate the suspect have been unsuccessful.
