A 52-year-old resident from the RM of Miniota faces several charges stemming from a series of incidents on Sept. 24.
Ronald Chartier faces charges of uttering threats, assault with a weapon, pointing of a firearm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, mischief under $5,000 and other firearms related offences.
According to police, Chartier, while under the influence of alcohol, drove his pickup truck to a rural farmyard belonging to an individual that he had previously had a dispute with.
Upon arrival at the farmyard, Chartier fired several rounds from a gun in the direction of the person at the yard site.
When the individual fled the site in his car, Chartier followed and rear-ended the car with his truck, pushing the car into an intersection.
“It was a very dangerous situation,” RCMP Sgt. Line Karpish said. “When people start discharging firearms at properties or in the vicinity of where people are, these are very dangerous circumstances.”
Police also seized a number of firearms and ammunition from a residence.
