Jon Hooker has decided to sell a North Hill property rather than continue a fight with area residents opposed to his proposed condominium development.
Hooker had been attempting to redevelop the land at 1230 18th St., but his application to rezone the land to accommodate a proposed development of seven condo units plus a single family lot was rejected by the City of Brandon planning commission after opponents jammed the public gallery to speak against the idea.

The "not in my back yard" group wins again, way to go folks! Now please start to complain that you have to drive to Winnipeg to shop at stores that won't set up shop in Brandon and brag that you drive to the States to shop and your trifecta of hypocrisy will be complete.
