MINNEDOSA — Rockin’ the Fields of Minnedosa is set to present the ninth edition of the annual August long weekend festival in style.
It features a diverse lineup that includes modern rockers Finger Eleven, progressive band Saga, new wavers Platinum Blonde, post grunge Default, classic rock favourites Kenny Shields & Streetheart as well as 1980s sensation The Northern Pikes.
Bands with a more local flavour include Take With Audio, Six Foot Stupid, The Wheat Monkeys, Red Seed and Shattered. Additional performers for fill spots will be announced in the near future.
Rockin’ the Fields has been growing since its inception, and last year saw the return of the lower stage in the concert bowl overlooking Lake Minnedosa. This beautiful setting is hard to beat, and the bowl area is an addition that was eagerly anticipated by many.
The concert site also features plenty of camping with available pump out and water service, day parking, showers and plenty of vendors. Rockin’ the Fields prides itself on providing a safe, secure and clean environment for those who attend.
In addition to the evening performances, there will be a volleyball tournament, pancake breakfasts, a Sunday jam session as well as the beach to cool down at on those dog days of August.
With the ongoing support from the Rural Municipality of Minto, the Town of Minnedosa, local service clubs, sponsors, businesses and individuals from the surrounding area and beyond, everyone can look forward to enjoying one of the best events that Manitoba has to offer.
Come out and see why Rockin’ the Fields was recently awarded the 2011 Partnership award by Tourism Westman and is sitting at first in Manitoba and fifth in Canada in the WestJet Fun ’N’ Festivals Series.
Weekend passes are $150, day passes are $55, camping is $50 (for four nights) and limited deck access passes will cost $225.
Tickets are available at 1-888-330-8333 or at Ticketmaster.
