A driver who was thrown when a pickup truck crashed into a concrete embankment and hydro pole remains in a Winnipeg hospital in critical condition.
The 20-year-old man was hospitalized when the truck struck the embankment and pole on the 1500-block of Stickney Avenue early Friday morning.
Police said the truck had been travelling east along the avenue at a "high rate of speed" when the driver lost control.
An official at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg confirmed on Monday that the man remains there in critical condition.
An 18-year-old woman who was riding in the truck was treated at hospital and released.
