Police have charged a man with impaired driving — despite passing a roadside screening test for alcohol.
They say he was spotted behind the wheel of a vehicle that cut off two other vehicles on First Street at about 1:30 a.m. Monday.
They tried to pull him over, but he turned instead into a home on the 1300-block of First Street, where he allegedly refused to open the door.
When officers did manage to gain access, they say the driver showed signs of intoxication.
After passing the test for alcohol, however, officers say it became evident that the man was actually on drugs.
He was arrested and a search found about two grams of marijuana inside the vehicle.
An 18-year-old Brandon man is to appear in court on March 7 on charges of impaired driving, obstructing a police officer and possession of marijuana.
