Driving wrong way down Rosser nets pair of charges

An impaired driver who took a wrong turn onto one-way Rosser Avenue found a quick route to jail.

A 46-year-old woman was caught driving the wrong way on downtown’s main street at about 4:20 p.m. Friday, city police say.

After the driver was stopped, they say the woman showed obvious signs of impairment and a breath test revealed the woman was three times over the legal limit.

Along with a charge of disobeying a traffic control device (a one-way street sign), the woman is facing a charge of impaired driving.

The woman was held in custody and was set to be released Saturday to attend court on Thursday.
