The Dunrea Arena will receive $22,000 from the federal government to enhance its services.
On Saturday, Brandon-Souris Conservative MP Merv Tweed announced the funding, which will come from the government’s Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund.
"I am proud to see Dunrea benefit from our government’s investment in community infrastructure," Tweed said. "Through investments such as this one, our government continues to support communities across the country."
Upgrades will include replacing the emergency exit doors and adding emergency exit lighting in the skating and curling rinks. There will be insulation improvements, upgrades to the lighting in the change room area and new flooring will be installed in the public waiting room.
The government says the improvements will make the arena safer and more energy efficient, while extending the life of the facility.
