A Brandon restaurant is gunning for a world record with a Canada Day attempt to serve the largest amount of poutine ever.
Joe Beeverz staff hope to beat the official Guinness world record of 1,102 pounds of poutine — and have set a goal of serving more than 1,600 pounds in their attempt.
The world-record try will take place at the Riverbank Discovery Centre during Canada Day celebrations on July 1. It’s expected to start around 2 p.m.
The poutine will be free, but donations will be accepted on behalf of the Westman Cerebral Palsy Association and the Riverbank Discovery Centre.
