Valentine’s Day is less than a week away. Are you stumped about what to buy for the man in your life?
A good place to start is Bromley’s Menswear on Rosser Avenue. In addition to dress pants and shirts, the shop has a wide array of gift items.
Owner Brian Bromley said personal items like cufflinks, wallets and shaving brushes are popular gift ideas.
Bromley’s offers shaving brushes in three different qualities.
“Badger is the best because it lasts the longest and also lathers the best,” he said. “It’s a lot better than your synthetic ones because it just does a better job.”
Brushes start at $60 and range up to $190 for the silver-tipped option.
The shop offers top-quality wallets as well.
“The wallet I sell is gusseted, so it makes getting the money in and out a lot easier,” Bromley said.
For $55, you can purchase a men’s 11-piece nail kit.
“It’s amazing how many guys like to have it,” he said.
If you’d like to see your valentine take a page out of Justin Timberlake’s style book, pick up a skinny tie from Bromley’s.
“Once people on TV start wearing them, they do become more interesting to people for sure,” Bromley said.
The shop also has gift certificates, and while it’s not as personal, Bromley said it’s often a good gift option.
“People are wanting to choose it themselves and that’s where gift certificates come in so handy,” he said.
If your man is a sports fan, maybe it’s time to splurge on a jersey of his favourite NHL or CFL team.
Source for Sports sells jerseys for roughly $130, which can be personalized with a screen-printed number and name for an extra $15, or professional stitched for an extra $70.
Source for Sports has a wide array of licensed team gear, including CFL, NHL, NFL and MLB.
“We have hats, jerseys, shirts, toques that type of stuff,” said owner Brian Barnes.
If you’re looking for something quirky, pick up a sports-themed garden gnome.
