City council will receive a report from the grants review committee, which includes a recommendation to distribute a total of $183,500 in grants in 2014, on Monday night.
Every year, city council provides grants to a number of service, cultural, performance and recreational organizations to assist them in their efforts to add to the quality of life for Brandon residents.
Coun. Jan Chaboyer (Green Acres) will bring forward a motion to reconsider a vote at the July 8 meeting with respect to the Land Inventory Listing. The motion is in order to amend the listing.
Council will also consider a motion to provide a $10,000 grant for the Sun Life Financial Junior Challenge as part of the accommodation tax reserve.
A dispatch upgrade bid for emergency communications is also on the agenda. Two bylaws will be addressed: to rezone 332 and 336 Fourth St. and to close the remaining portion of Seventh Street between Princess and Lorne avenues.
