They took a dip to cool off and avoided getting into hot water.
Police say they got a call at about 3:40 a.m. on Thursday to report that a group of about six young people had jumped the fence of the Kinsmen pool in Rideau Park and were seen both in the pool and apparently trying to enter the building.
By the time officers arrived, the group had left. Police weren’t able to get inside the fenced-in pool themselves, so weren’t able to confirm whether the pool building had been broken into.
They continue to investigate.
It’s the second time in a week that people have broken into the pool. Sometime early Saturday morning, a group of people cut the fence to get into the pool.
That group also kicked in the door of the pump house, where the office was left in disarray, although nothing appeared to be missing.
