If there’s a lesson to be learned from police this week, it is this — lock your car.
Police say at least six vehicles were entered and plundered so far this week. Most were unlocked.
On Tuesday, an iPod was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 1200-block of Louise Avenue sometime overnight Monday. It had been left in the driveway.
Money was taken from another unlocked vehicle the same night. It had been parked overnight in a driveway on Kelsey Bay.
A third unlocked vehicle, also parked in a driveway, in the 1400-block of Sixth Street, had insurance and registration papers stolen from inside. That theft may have happened anytime between Friday and Tuesday.
There’s a narrower time frame for the theft of a gym bag and everything that was in it reported early Wednesday morning. The unlocked vehicle had been parked on Fox Place, and the theft happened between midnight and 4 a.m. on Wednesday.
Another theft reported Wednesday was from a vehicle parked overnight in a driveway on Pine Ridge Crescent. Stolen from inside were sunglasses, loose change and hunting knives.
Finally on Wednesday morning, police were called to a reported theft of golf clubs from a vehicle on Fotheringham Drive. It, too, happened sometime overnight while the vehicle was parked in the driveway.
Police say there were no witnesses to any of the thefts, no damage was caused to any of the vehicles and they currently have no suspects.
