Man accused of robbing pizza delivery driver

It may not have been 30 minutes or less, but police were able to quickly crack the case of the pizza delivery robbery early Tuesday morning.

Officers were called at around 2:30 a.m., just after the driver had been robbed.

The driver had just dropped off a pizza to home in the 3500-block of Willowdale Crescent and was returning to his vehicle when a man approached and asked for money to buy booze.

Then, when the driver refused, the man made a threat of violence and demanded the cash. Police say there was also an intimation that the robber was carrying some type of edged weapon.

Investigators were led back to the address where the delivery had been made, and the suspect and the money were found inside.

A 26-year-old Sioux Valley man was arrested and held for the rest of the night at the Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in court Tuesday morning where he faced a charge of robbery with violence.
