Man accused of stealing $35 worth of goods from Brandon business

A man was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly trying to walk out of a store with merchandise he didn’t pay for.

Staff from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue called police just before 1:30 p.m. to report a man had stole $35 worth of merchandise and fled the store.

The man was identified from video surveillance footage and was located several hours later in the 900 block of 26th Street.

The 39-year-old man with no fixed address was arrested for theft under $5,000 and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in court on Thursday.
