A man found arguing with a woman was armed with two hidden butcher knives and a screwdriver, police say.
At about 2:15 a.m. Monday, officers were alerted to the possibility that a man on the 600-block of Franklin Street could be carrying a knife.
When they went to the block, they could hear an argument coming from the back lane, on the west side of the street. There, they found a man arguing with a woman.
The man was arrested and found to be carrying the knives and screwdriver hidden in his clothing.
The woman wasn’t assaulted, nor threatened by the man, who appeared intoxicated and was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre for release when sober.
A 28-year-old Brandon man is to appear in court on July 23, on charges of possessing a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.
