WINNIPEG — Police have arrested a 21-year-old man and charged him with second-degree murder after a body turned up on Long Plain First Nation.
RCMP announced Friday that Cody Alexander Schmidt of Long Plain was charged in connection of the death of another 24-year-old man.
Police haven’t released the name of the victim, who is from Portage la Prairie.
RCMP said the death happened after a fight broke out between people outside a home, which also injured a 20-year-old man and 47-year-old man.
Schmidt will be in court on Monday.
Police said the investigation into what happened is continuing and haven’t released the cause of death.
