Brandon police have reportedly seized an estimated $800,000 worth of marijuana and cocaine as part of an investigation into an illegal drug ring.
On Monday, police reportedly raided a Brandon-area property, where they seized about 125 pounds of marijuana and two kilograms of cocaine. They also seized a couple of unsafely stored firearms.
None of this information has been confirmed with the Brandon Police Service.
Jayant David Venn, 33, is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds obtained by crime and weapon offences.
He’s currently in custody pending a court appearance on Thursday.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
Meanwhile, it appears the drug bust was the result of a police operation that targeted a drug network that has been operating in the area.
There’s word that two men have also been arrested in Dauphin in relation to the same investigation.
