Man faces DUI charge after McDonad's stop

Would you like an impaired driving charge with your Big Mac?

A 25-year-old man was arrested after a McDonald’s drive-thru employee noticed the man was impaired and called local police around 9:40 p.m. Saturday.

The man was waiting in his vehicle in the parking lot of the Victoria Avenue restaurant waiting for his meal when officers showed up.

The man had more than two-and-a-half times the legal limit of alcohol in his system, according to Brandon police, and was arrested. He will appear in court later this week.

In a separate incident early Sunday morning, Brandon police stopped an erratic driver on the 1300-block of 18th Street.

Police say he was drifting “excessively” into lanes around 5:30 a.m.

Police were notified of the man’s driving while he was on the 2000-block of Richmond Avenue.

The lone driver was arrested for impaired driving after a breath test showed he had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system. The man will appear in court later this week.
