Motorcyclist charged following crash

It may not be an insult, but police added charges to injury on Monday when they ticketed a motorcyclist as being responsible for the crash that sent him to hospital.

Police say the 34-year-old Brandon man was taken to hospital with significant but non-life threatening injuries to his lower body after the crash, which occurred during the noon hour.

He was apparently headed south on 18th Street when he made a left turn onto Louise Avenue to head east. However, he entered the path of a car travelling north in the curb lane of 18th Street, and they crashed.

The motorcyclist has been charged with failing to yield the right-of-way when making a left turn.
