Dauphin police say they were on their way to a disturbance call when a car suddenly vaulted off the grassy median and landed directly in front of them.
No one was injured in the crash.
It happened just past 1 a.m. on Saturday in the south end of Dauphin, as officers were driving south on Main Street. They saw the car hit the grassy median between Main and Jackson Street, catch air and land on Main Street in front of them.
The driver of the car was approached by officers and showed signs of being impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and breath tests later showed his blood alcohol content to be almost twice the legal limit.
A 21-year-old Camperville man is to appear in court on July 31 to face charges of impaired driving and driving over .08.
