Motorist faces impaired driving charge

A man pulled over for speeding was also impaired, police say.

The vehicle he was driving was stopped at about 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, on the 1400-block of Sixth Street. The driver showed signs of having consumed alcohol, police say, and failed a roadside screening test. He was arrested and later supplied samples of his breath that indicated an alcohol content almost double the legal limit.

A 25-year-old Brandon man is to appear in court on March 7 on a charge of impaired driving.
