The Brandon Police Service says one of its members was kicked in the chin while trying to arrest a female youth early Saturday morning.
According to police, the 15-year-old girl, who was intoxicated and “causing trouble” at a Brandon home, resisted arrest before allegedly assaulting the officer.
The girl was on probation, police say, and under a condition not to drink alcohol.
Police say the officer was not seriously injured from the assault.
The girl is facing charges of breach of probation, along with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
