It’s the middle of August, but the city has a cool treat planned for families who come out to Rideau Park next Saturday.
City staff will be showing a free outdoor screening of the Disney movie “Frozen” that evening. It’s a makeup date for a screening that was supposed to coincide with the opening of the new Rideau Park spray park in late June, but was cancelled due to poor weather.
There’s no rain date for this one, though; the city says that Aug. 16 is the date for sure.
A full day of activities awaits families ahead of the movie, with both the spray park and Kinsmen Pool open regular operating hours. Families young and old are encouraged to spend the day splashing around Rideau Park.
After the water is turned off for the day, face painting and kids games will be offered, with the movie set to start at dusk.
The City of Brandon’s Youth Activity Centres will also be fundraising on-site by offering a choice of candy, pop or popcorn for just $1 each.
