Shoppers Mall is chalking up Saturday’s second annual Holiday Magic event as another success.
While no fundraising numbers have been released yet, the mall’s marketing director, Candace McKenzie, said more than 5,000 of the 6,000 tickets were sold, each at $5.
Shoppers Mall’s answer to Black Friday drew hundreds to the stores’ holiday sales while raising thousands of dollars for 40 different local organizations.
“I would say it was more successful than last year,” McKenzie said. “We had overwhelming support from the community, we had fantastic discounts from the stores.”
Last year, the event raised more than $26,000 and the mall’s customer traffic ballooned and this year was no different.
High level prizes from WestJet, the Brandon Wheat Kings, Canad Inns and Planet Kia were also up for grabs on Saturday evening.
