Although recent months have seen a spike in impaired driving arrests following tips from drive-thru employees, Brandon police managed to nab two impaired drivers overnight Thursday — without any help from fast-food workers.
The first arrest was made just before 6 p.m. on Thursday, after a two-vehicle crash near 20th Street and Ottawa Avenue. No injuries were reported, but one of the drivers reportedly appeared to be drunk. Indeed, police say that when they arrived, the man who had been driving one of the vehicles looked highly intoxicated and was arrested. He later gave breath samples that were more than triple the legal limit.
