Police charged a woman with impaired driving after she hit a curb on Sunday morning and charged another woman who was spotted drinking beer inside a van in an unrelated incident just after noon.
Officers were first called to McDiarmid Drive near 34th Street at about 8:15 a.m. after a vehicle had struck a curb and damaged a tire.
They responded and found the driver, who showed signs of intoxication and was arrested.
She later gave breath samples that were more than double the legal limit.
A 24-year-old Brandon woman is to appear in court on Oct. 24, on a charge of impaired driving.
Just after noon that same day, police were called to Willowdale Crescent, where someone reported that a person was drinking beer inside a parked van.
Officers located the 2005 Chevy van with a woman in the driver’s seat who smelled strongly of liquor. She was also found to be disqualified from driving.
However, she refused a roadside screening test and was arrested.
A 38-year-old woman from Sioux Valley Dakota Nation is to appear in court on Oct. 24, on charges of refusing a roadside screening device and several Highway Traffic and Liquor Control Act offences.
