Retired RCMP constable Ray Piché has been acclaimed as the Liberal candidate for the Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa electoral district for the upcoming federal election.
He was officially nominated by acclamation on Aug. 11 during a party association meeting in Neepawa.
Piché had initially announced his intention to seek the Brandon-Souris nomination in February, but withdrew after he was frustrated that the Brandon-Souris Federal Liberal Association was not prepared to have a nomination meeting until the fall, after it had been originally slated for June.
Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa will be the expanded riding’s name in the next federal election, which is expected to be called for October 2015.
