Impaired driving charges were laid by police on Friday in two separate incidents.
Just after 10 p.m., the Brandon Police Service received several reports that a vehicle was driving in the wrong lane and against the flow of traffic on Rosser Avenue.
Police stopped the vehicle and the driver, a 30-year-old Winnipeg woman, appeared intoxicated.
The woman was taken to the police station where readings from a breathalyzer showed her blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.
After spending the night in jail, the woman was released, but will have to return to Brandon to face charges of impaired driving.
Also Friday, a 27-year-old Sioux Valley woman was charged with impaired driving in relation to an incident on May 23. That’s when a woman drove into a tree on the 400-block of 13th Street. She was taken to hospital for treatment.
A lab analysis showed the woman had a blood alcohol concentration of nearly three times the legal limit.
Early Sunday morning the BPS received a report that a man on Middleton Avenue ordered food and then passed out in his car.
The police found the vehicle and took the man to the police station where he failed a breathalyzer and was then charged with care and control of a motor vehicle while over .08.
Also on Sunday morning, a 27-year-old Winnipeg man was charged with impaired driving after being pulled over when he attempted to avoid a police checkstop on the 2600-block of McTavish Avenue.
The man failed a breathalyzer and will appear in court later this week.
