Police target distracted driving in April

Don’t be a fool on April Fool’s Day and talk or text on your cellphone while driving.

The Brandon Police Service would like to remind the public that starting today, officers will be targeting distracted drivers for the month of April.

The charge of distracted driving carries a fine of $203.65 and results in two demerits on your driver’s licence.

Talking on a hand-held cellphone or texting while driving are dangerous practices and lead to many tragic accidents each year.

BPS has partnered with Manitoba Public Insurance for the April enforcement crackdown.
