Police track down, arrest break-in suspects

A duo accused of smashing a window to break into a Dauphin restaurant were arrested within half an hour of the crime.

Police in Dauphin were called at around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday to a reported break-in at a Main Street South restaurant in that city. Officers arrived to find a window to the business had been smashed, but managed to track down and arrest two suspects within a half hour.

They’ve charged 21-year-old Sidney Ryan Nepinak and 21-year-old Keith Lyle McDonald, both of Dauphin, with break, enter and theft. Nepinak was remanded in custody and was to appear in Dauphin provincial court yesterday, while McDonald was released and is to appear in court Nov. 6.

Police say their investigation continues.
